In our opinion personal training is about getting real, life-changing results for our clients. We are not here to simply take our clients through a "workout", we are here to get you the body that you want fast and enable you to keep those results for a lifetime. You have plenty of other things in your life to worry about and you shouldn't have to waste time trying to learn all the intricate details of exercise science and nutrition science as well. In Dallas, you have plenty of choices when it comes to finding a personal trainer. There are lots of mega gyms: Lifetime Fitness, LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness...the list goes on and on. These gyms have excellent facilities, stocked with plenty of high quality exercise equipment, BUT...when it comes to personal training, these are not the places to go. Those gyms hire people with a high school degree, get them "certified" as personal trainers, teach them sales, and then turn them loose on the members of the gym telling them that sales are all about numbers and the more people they sit down and give a personal training sales presentation to, the more sales they will get, and the more money they will make. …And these personal trainers have to do this if they want to make any sort of reasonable income because the gyms pay them such small wages and keep the rest of the money for the company. Think about it this way, if you want a good hamburger, you don't go to McDonald's to get it. However, at McDonald's you know exactly what you are going to get every time you order a hamburger. Its the same way at these mega gyms. They train their personal trainers to use their "system" just like McDonald's uses their system to create the same exact burger millions of times a day every day. …This is how the gym reduces its liability because it would literally be impossible to regulate thousands of trainers nationwide if they are all using their own system and way of doing things. In order for personal training to be tightly regulated on a mass scale, it has to be standardized, just like McDonald’s hamburgers. The trainers follow the system the gym created and the purpose of the system is to minimize mistakes, minimize injuries, convince as many members as possible that the quality of the personal training is high by using clever sales speeches and techniques, and ultimately maximize profits for the company. When it comes to mass produced systems that are created to be carried out by thousands of individuals nationwide, many of whom are very unqualified to be teaching the subject matter (in this case - exercise science - i.e. personal training), you can't exactly keep the quality very high. High quality in any field involving personal service can only be maintained when you have highly competent, intelligent people who are truly passionate about the subject matter (in this case, exercise science and personal training) and if LA Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, or 24 Hour Fitness want to maintain their massive profit margins on personal training, they can't afford to hire personal trainers of this caliber. They have to hire the people who want to put in minimal effort on the job and thus are willing to take home minimum compensation. Think about it this way...if you were a gourmet chef, would you take a job flipping burgers at McDonald's for minimum wage? Neither will a highly qualified personal trainer choose to train at a mega gym where he will be paid and treated like a low skilled robot who merely teaches the simple personal training "system" that the gym has decided can be reliably carried out by people of just any skill and education level. After looking at the situation accurately, it leaves us to ask, "Why would anyone train at Lifetime Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, or any of the other mega gyms?" There are a few reasons: You're already a member of the gym and personal trainer approaches you in the gym...its easy, why would you go elsewhere if it seems like the solution is right there where you are. Since most people are in the dark in regard to exercise and nutrition science, these personal trainers sound like they know what they are talking about as soon as they start using the exercise science personal trainer lingo and cleverly worded company sales speeches that include lots of impressive sounding words and phrases that deal with exercise science and the average person is unfamiliar with. They are affordable. Personal training is not cheap, not matter where you go, but its often alot cheaper at the mega gyms like 24 Hour Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, and LA Fitness than it is from independent personal trainers who train in private personal training studios. Now, having said all that, it seems that the obvious choice would be to go to an independent personal trainer who really know what he or she is talking about, but the price may be more expensive because top trainers often charge very high prices. Most mega gyms charge somewhere between $60 and $95 per one hour personal training session. Independent personal trainers can charge anywhere from $60-$200+ per hour, the average price being somewhere around $80 an hour. Here at Koehl Training, we deliberately keep our prices in the same range as the mega gyms and yet we provide the top quality training that only a highly dedicated, intelligent, passionate person can. We know we might be able to charge higher prices and thus train fewer hours per day, but the truth is we actually love personal training, care about our clients, care about your results, and we enjoy having the opportunity to get serious life changing results for as many clients as possible and if we charge too much, that will seriously limit our clientele to only the super-wealthy and we want to be accessible to anyone who wants real results from quality personal training.

To tell you the truth, I don’t know… It actually seems strange to me because most trainers don’t get results for their clients and yet most clients continue to train with the same trainer year after year.
Dallas is a great place for Liz and I, because 1) we are personal trainers and 2) we actually care about the results our clients get from personal training with us. Because it is actually so rare in Dallas that personal trainers truly care about their clients results, we can set ourselves apart in this way attracting only those clients who actually want results. If you simply want to tell your friends around Dallas that you worked out today or that you have a personal trainer, then we are not the right trainers for you. However, if you want to actually have the body that you’ve always wanted and get to walk around in that body for years to come, letting your results speak for themselves, then we are precisely the trainers for you. We are here in Dallas to train people who really want to have the body they say they want to have and we are here to get you that body, fast. In spite of how impossible all the fitness magazines may make it seem, getting the results you want is simply a matter of putting in the right inputs (actions) for the desired outputs (results). You tell us your goals, we design your program accordingly, you get the results you want. Its no more complicated than that. Let us show you what we can do for you today… We pride ourselves in being the most results oriented personal trainers in Dallas. You will find more expensive personal trainers in Dallas and you may find cheaper personal trainers in Dallas, but you won’t find any trainers in Dallas who are more interested in making sure that you get the body that you want than we are.
Dallas is a city in which personal training is the norm for many people and we know plenty of personal trainers who make their living by simply taking one person after another through a workout every day, but to be honest, just taking people through a workout would drive us nuts! …We want our clients to get results! That’s what
If our clients didn’t get the body they want from training with us, then we would feel like we had wasted their time, our time, and their money. There are plenty of personal trainers to choose from in Dallas, but if its real results you’re after then we hope you’ll give us a try and let us show you how great you can look and feel when you train with someone who 1) knows what they are talking about and 2) cares about your results as much as you do. Dallas has more personal trainers than most cities in the U.S. and yet every time a list of America’s fittest cities in published, Dallas is NOT on it.
Why is that? One would think, more personal trainers in Dallas = fitter people in Dallas but apparently this seemingly obvious correlation is not accurate…but it should be. If you went to the doctor who didn’t help you get better, what would you do? If you went to a financial planner who didn’t help you make money, what would you do? You’d go to a different one, and your’d switch as many times as necessary until you got the results you were looking for! Well, apparently people don’t view it this way when it comes to personal trainers in Dallas because we have a huge number of personal trainers per capita here in Dallas and yet we still don’t manage to even get on the list of America’s fittest cities at all. Our goal is to be the top two personal trainers in Dallas when it comes to getting serious results for clients. We don’t want to be the most expensive personal trainers in Dallas, we just want to be known as the very best personal trainers in Dallas and that means we have to get phenomenal results for every single one of our clients, period. Your results are our results…If you don’t achieve your goals, then we have failed…and we hate failing. Give us a try today and get the body that you’ve always wanted a lot sooner than you think. We’re here to get Dallas leaner, fitter, and healthier one client at a time…let us start with you… |
