Power Clean
Dallas Personal Trainer - This is not a popular exercise among Dallas Personal Trainers. However, Crossfit has recently enjoyed a massive explosion in popularity and because the Crossfit training program includes many of the Olympic style lifts in its workout routines, Power Cleans have enjoyed an upsurge in popularity after having been out of favor for nearly 50 years in the US.
This exercise is performed in the the same way as Hang Cleans except that it starts from the floor rather than the waist. Simply pick the bar up as though performing a Deadlift, and when the bar reaches thigh level, transfer the leg power up through your hips and do a clean.
