One-arm Dumbbell Swings
Dallas Personal Trainer - This is a very uncommon Dallas Personal Trainer exercise that is normally performed with a kettlebell. Most Dallas gyms do not have kettelbells and most personal trainers do not actually know how to correctly use them anyway. This kettelbell exercise can easily be performed with a dumbbell however which makes it possible to perform at any of the mega gyms around Dallas.
Hold a dumbbell with one hand and stand with you feet slightly wider than shoulder width, with your toes pointed slightly outward. Lower yourself into a semi squat and bend slightly at your hips while keeping your back straight. Lower the dumbbell by squatting a little but and bending more at the hips. Once the dumbbell swings back between your legs, use the strength from your legs and hips to push it forward and upward (while keeping your arm fully extended and straight). The dumbbell should swing up to face level or above. Get a rhythm a going and continue to swing back and forth with the strength from your thighs and hips doing the work.
