Dumbbell Shrugs
Online Personal Trainer - A great trap exercise and always a favorite among gym rats, Dallas personal trainers, and bodybuilders in nearly every Dallas gym.
Hold a dumbbell at each side and shrug your shoulders upward as high as possible. It is okay to let you arms bend a little bit when doing this, but let your traps (the muscles between you shoulders and neck) do most of the pulling. Once you have shrugged up as high as possible, let the weight back down under the control of the trap muscles and repeat. Make sure you stand upright on these. Hold your chest out and do not lean or hunch forward.
