Are Dallas Personal Trainers Fit?
Well, first of all that depends on your definition of "fit". It also depends on which Dallas personal trainers you are talking about. There are plenty of personal trainers in Dallas that look great on the outside but are not very fit and healthy on the inside, there are plenty who are very fit and healthy on the inside but who do not appear to be in shape as far as appearance goes on the outside, there are plenty who are are both fit inside and look great on the outside, and there are even some Dallas personal trainers who are not fit on the inside or the outside.
Does it matter? Does your personal trainer need to look fit? Does looking fit mean that they know what they are doing?
Well to answer each of the questions succinctly and in order: yes, no, and no.
Now let's look in a little more detail...
Does it matter if your trainer is fit?
It is very possible for a personal trainer to have a high degree of knowledge and yet not utilize it in his/her own life BUT I tend to be very suspect of professionals who fall into this category (i.e. unhealthy doctors, poor financial planners, out of shape personal trainers, etc). If someone has a true passion for a subject, they will tend to study it and apply themselves 100% to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence in that field continually. Naturally they will tend to reap the benefits of this pursuit and it will show through in their own life. If someone does not embody what they claim to be an expert of, I have a very hard time believing they are truly an expert. However, it is theoretically possible to be an expert in a field and yet embody the expertise in your own life so I am sure there are some exceptions.
Does your personal trainer need to look fit?
Not necessarily. Being fit and looking fit are not necessarily always the same thing, especially when it comes to performance sports. Performance sports are all about one thing: performance. Appearance doesn't matter at all. If a marathon runner has phenomenal marathon race times and yet looks a little chubby, does it really matter?
On the other hand, most people actually DO want to look good. So when choosing a trainer you need to weigh your goals and weigh the advantages of working with different trainers. If performance is your only important goal, then finding a trainer who is an expert in the sport that you intend to compete in is the most important factor. However, if your primary goal is to look good then you need to find a trainer who is an expert at creating a highly appealing physical physique.
Does being fit mean that they know what they are doing?
Unfortunately, no. I have personally known plenty of Dallas personal trainers who have a fantastic physique but who actually know very little about fitness, nutrition, and training science. Sometimes this is due to fantastic genetics and other times it is due to the use of drugs. So as misleading as this can be, physical appearance is not an automatic indicator of knowledge
